Bi-carbonate of soda is your friend when it comes to tea stains.  It’s great for getting unsightly marks of cups and teaspoons.  To remove tea cup rings from furniture – again mix a small amount with water.  For carpet stain removal, mix up a weak solution and scrub gently.  Always check the manufacturer’s instructions first.
